The Emissary of Light
The Emissary of Light
Watch the emissary of light on SFlix. Tells the story of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, better known as the Rebbe, through one of his most visible, and most contested, ideas: the public menorah. To the Rebbe, Hanukkah’s light was meant to be seen, not kept behind closed doors. When giant menorahs began rising in public squares across America, they ignited a national fight over how visible Jewish life should be, placing both the question and the man behind it at the center of American public life.
